May 12, 2009: American Printing Company of Madison, WI received 30 awards for outstanding achievement in the 8th Annual Graphics Excellence Awards competition, a statewide printing competition hosted by the Printing Industries of Wisconsin. Competing against nearly 900 entries, American Printing Company’s awards included 2 Best of Category, 3 Best of Division and numerous Awards of Excellence.
Once again, American received top honors in the category ”They Said it Couldn’t Be Done”, recognizing our history of innovation in the pressroom. The Graphic Excellence Awards recognize those responsible for the creation and production of print communications in Wisconsin. The competition promotes excellence in print and communications and rewards companies and individuals who produce the best in print media.

American Printing Co. Acquires The Printing Partners
May 7, 2009: MADISON, Wis. -- American Printing Company, a leader in printing technology, has acquired The Printing Partners and will retain employees from both staffs to take advantage of the organizations’ unique strengths and expertise.
The two firms, based in Madison, serve business clients throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. Vance Kapalczynski, president and chief executive officer of American Printing, said combining the two firms brings more services under one roof and creates opportunities for growth.
“We're pleased to welcome The Printing Partners and their employees into American Printing and believe that together, our growing company will be able to offer numerous strategic advantages to clients,” Kapalczynski said. “Although today's market is extremely competitive, we believe the quality of our services and our dedication to our clients’ business objectives really set us apart. American Printing Co., founded in 1956, is a Forest Stewardship Council certified printer. A growing number of businesses recognize the need to communicate with both print and electronic materials, and are looking for ways to reduce their environmental impact while controlling costs.

After the combination with The Printing Partners is completed over the next few weeks,
American Printing will employ a total of 90 at its headquarters, 2909 Syene Road in
Madison. Therese Gulbransen, president of The Printing Partners and a member of the
boards of directors of several area nonprofits including the YWCA of Madison and A
Fund For Women, will serve as vice president of sales and marketing for American
Printing.

American is especially proud to be the winner of the Best of Category award for the Environmentally Sound Materials category. Finding ways to minimize our impact on the environment has been a standard procedure in our day-to-day operations for many years, and we are pleased to be recognized with this award.

American Printing Company earns FSC Certification
Madison, WI — June 28, 2007- American Printing Company of Madison, WI has earned the distinction of becoming the first Madison area printer to be certified by SmartWood to produce printed materials which are accepted as meeting the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
American Printing qualified for this certification by having strict procedures in place for handling FSC papers and print projects. FSC paper products certified by Smartwood are recognized as coming from well–managed forests adhering to environmental and socioeconomic standards in accordance with principles and criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council.
