Preparing files for FTP transferFiles should be encoded, especially EPS files and fonts. You will need to use a compression program such as StuffIt Deluxe or WinZIP. Set your preferences in your compression program to encode when files are stuffed. Compression and encoding are two different functions. A common encoding format is BinHex (.hqx). We recommend StuffIt Deluxe or the shareware version DropStuff to stuff and encode your files. Compressing your files will also speed up transfer time as a result of smaller file sizes. Click on the DropStuff link to download the Aladdin Systems shareware application if needed. There are versions for both the Macintosh and Windows platforms. http://www.aladdinsys.com/dropstuff/index.html
